UCO Bank enforces strict punctuality rules on its employees

The Govt. of India owned (more than 95%) UCO Bank, with its head office at Kolkata, has enforced strict punctuality rules on its employees via a circular released on 1st of April 2024.

UCO Bank’s new punctuality rules

The aforementioned circular states that the biometric attendance system will be enforced very strictly and the employee’s leave will get debited automatically if the employee remains absent or continues to arrive late to the office. The circular also says that this new rule will be applicable to all the clerical staff, officers and to executives up to scale 6.

Details on biometric linked punctuality rules of UCO Bank

The biometric linked punctuality monitoring system of UCO Bank released via a circular dated first of April 2024 states the following rules:

  1. All the officers and clerks have to arrive at the office before 10:00 A.M. and the sub-staffs will have to arrive at the office before 9:45 a.m.
  2. All the employees will have to punch their attendance via the biometric attendance system that he has been linked to the HRMS automatic leave debit system.
  3. If an employee punches his or her attendance 10 minutes late then they will be considered as late-in, and a leave will be debited for every third late-in.
  4. The leave the debiting system well debit the casual leaves, unutilized casual leave and then PL in this same order.
  5. If an employee punches his or her attendance after the 10 minute late time slot, then they will be marked as ‘absent’ on that particular day and they will also be marked LWP (leave without pay) for that day and they will not get the salary for all the days they remain absent.
  6. If any employee goes on a leave without getting there leaves sanctioned by competent authority, then the system will mark them absent and thus, debit there salary. It has been suggested to the leave sanctioning authorities to process the applied leaves by the employees every month before salary processing date.
  7. Any grievances or technical problems in the biometric attendance system will be taken up by the zonal offices.

The aforementioned circular puts forward clear mindset of UCO Bank towards punctuality and discipline.
