Election Duty Remuneration 2024: The rates of remuneration approved by the Election Commission of India, for the General Election to Lok Sabha-2024, vide U.O. No. 269 dated 13.03.2024 the rates of remuneration to be paid to the staff deployed on Election Duty are as under:-

The letter the of Commission communicated vide this office letter No.CEO/Admn/104(2)/2013/Cir/16980-94 dated 20.03.2014 inter-alia direct that keeping in view the long hours of duty, the day next to the day of polling is also to be treated as period on Election Duty. Accordingly, the following will be considered, subject to conditions that those number of days were actually attended and recorded (via attendance).
- Polling Staff (P1, P2 and P3): Training: Maximum 4 days, Polling: 2 days. (Maximum: ₹1,500 + ₹300)
- Reserve Staff: Training: Maximum 4 days, Polling: 1 day. (Maximum: ₹1,250 + ₹150)
- Reception Duty Staff: Only 2 days. 1 day for training and 1 day for duty on reception counter on polling day. (Maximum: ₹500 + ₹150)
- Voter assistance both staff: Paid equal to the polling staff for 2 days only. 1 day for training and 1 day for polling duty. (Maximum: ₹500 + ₹150)
- Counting duty staff: For 2 days only. 1 day for training and 1 day for counting duty. (Maximum: ₹500 + ₹150)
- Micro Observers with be paid will be deployed on polling day and on counting day. These two will be considered as separate duties and will be paid accordingly. (Lump Sum: ₹1,000)
- Presiding Officer / Counting Supervisor/ Reception Supervisor: ₹350 per day
Refreshment Allowance for Election Duty
Staff deployed at polling stations and counting centres might either be provided packed lunch or a refreshment allowance of ₹150 per head, per day of duty.
As per the circular issued, the rates quoted will be strictly adhered to and calculations will be done accordingly.
